프린스 쵝오!
Well, I had a treat this weekend [Sunday 16 Sept]... I don't get out much recently, as you might know!
이번 주말 (9월 16일 일요일)에 대해 얘기해 보려고해요. 아마 여러분들도 아시겠지만 저는 최근 그리 자주 외출하지는 못했습니다.
But this was not to be missed. Prince, the Artist. At the O2 arena.
하지만 the O2 arena에서 하는 아티스트 '프린스' 의 공연만은 놓치고 싶지 않았어요.
Well, a great thing to see.
그래요, 정말 끝내줬습니다.
I know about 400,000 other people who probably had the same feeling that I had ...
40만의 다른 관객들 역시 저와 같은 생각을 했을거라고 믿고 있어요.
it was a feeling of peeking in to watch a genius at work.
천재가 일하는 모습을 몰래 지켜보는 듯한 느낌이었죠.
To my mind, Prince really is that rarity, a work of art in itself.
제 생각에, 프린스는 그 자신의 예술활동에 있어서는 정말로 흔치않은 인물이에요.
He actually just has to be there, doing what comes naturally to him, and he is endlessly fascinating.
그가 단지 거기 서 있고 행동하는 것이 매우 자연스럽게 그에게서 흘러나와요. 그리고 그에게는 끊임없이 매력이 넘쳐납니다.
In fact, he is so much a part of his own act that I feel he is the embodiment of a paradox - it is as if, when a performer goes to the extreme of awareness of himself as an artist, he becomes, in a way, a thing of which he cannot be aware.

It's impossible to find reasons for a lot of what Prince does, but it's all individual, and it's all HIM.

Within his incredibly unusual stage persona, he produces, as if out of a hat, choreography, vocal gymnastics, sensuality, dazzling keyboard playing, and world-class guitar-playing - all splashed out with an apparently careless bravura, and much of it treading the dangerous line between the planned and the spontaneous.

You could not really ask for better value for money ... the guy is every inch the real thing - a thing of quicksilver and gossamer, and pure rhythm - a free spirit of Rock.
여러분들은 돈 이상가는 가치를 상상하기 어려우시겠죠. 프린스는 유쾌함과 섬세함, 그리고 순수한 리듬 - 락의 자유의 정신(a free spirit of Rock)등 모든 부분에서 "진짜" 입니다.
I have never met him, though our paths have come close.
그와 근접해서 지나친 적은 있지만 그를 만난 적은 없어요.
I have no idea how hard it could be to work with someone like this ... though he has a lot in common with Freddie, as far as I can tell.
나는 프린스같은 사람과 일하는 것이 얼마나 어려운 일일지 상상이 가지 않습니다.
내가 말할 수 있는 사람에서라면 프레디 머큐리와 프린스는 많은 공통점이 있다고 생각해요.
But I felt very lucky to see this piece of living art, a thing of beauty. Incidentally, one of his daring masterstrokes on the night I saw him was a version of Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love.
하지만 나는 지금 살아있는 예술, 아름다움 그 자체인 프린스의 공연을 관람했다는 것이 너무나도 행운이라고 생각합니다. 덧붙이자면 그의 공연중에서 레드 제플린의 홀로타러브를 들을수 있었는데 그것은 혁신적이고 훌륭한 연주였죠.
The Artist, stap me, did Jimmy Page and Robert Plant all at once, with an easy confidence and effortless heaviness, and obviously huge affection, and we all got chills up the spine.
지미 페이지와 로버트 플랜트가 하나가 된 듯한 배짱과 무게감 그리고 명백히 거대한 감동에 나를 비롯한 관객 모두는 등줄기에 소름이 돋아올랐어요.
Soon it will be possible for a lucky few to see the Mighty Zeppelin in the same arena, but the place is already echoing with the pre-echo of that moment, thanks to this diminutive Hendrix-James Brown-Stevie Wonder person ... a whole spectrum contained in one body.
운 좋은 몇명은 같은 공연장에서 위대한 제플린을 볼 수 있을지 모르겠습니다.
하지만 이미 공연장에는 일순간 레드제플린을 느낄 수 있었죠.
이 조그만 체구의 "지미헨드릭스+제임스브라운+스티비원더"인 사람에게 감사합니다.
이 모든 아티스트들이 하나의 몸에 들어가 있었어요
